I planted the Autumn Sedum many years ago after I'd read deer don't care for it. Up until then, almost every plant and tree I'd planted they had nibbled on. Each fall I enjoy seeing it go from a beautiful green to this intense shade of pink. As fall progresses the pink will get deeper in color, unfortunately it will also split in the middle and spread out, not a pretty picture. I often wonder if it does that to reproduce in the Spring, or if the weight of the blooms is too much for the base to hold itself together.
Another one of Mother Nature's little creatures, not as friendly or as pretty, but fun to capture on film.

For the first time in may years I have seen a lot of butterflies this summer. I remember as a child they were everywhere and I chased them and watched them for hours. Not so many now. Thanks, Richard from My Old Historic House.
I love Sedum but for some reason I havn't had much luck with it is so beautiful and my, don't all the butterflies love it! Very pretty.
Lovely shots :)
Oh, marvellous shots!

What beautiful pictures ~ one could almost think they were spring flowers instead of fall. So pretty.

Lynne, your pictures are stunning, young lady!!!! I could just reach out and touch that beautiful butterfly.
Love your darling header.

Your flowers and butterflies and photos are absolutely gorgeous, Lynne!...Christine
Nature's beauty is a wonder. One year I raised a butterfly with my class as a project so they could see all the stages. When our little "Monty" (monarch) emerged their little eyes filled with amazement. Thanks for sharing a miracle.

Patti
Hi Lynne! This is truly beautiful! What a lovely butterfly. You should print these pictures.
Be a sweetie,

It's so nice to see flowers and butterflies. Everything here is dead and brown from our awful draught.
Your pictures are so beautiful!!!!!!
I hope you're doing well..........
Such beauty surrounding you...that butterfly is absolutely beautiful. I don't recall ever seeing a blue one.
This past week, I saw literally hundreds of dragonflies...at the beach. It was an amazing sight!

I'm glad he stayed around for the whole photo shoot!!! What a beautiful butterfly. I also love Sedum, I have several that turn a gorgeous lavendar. I usually divide them about every 2 years so they won't fall apart too much in the fall.

Lynn, as to your question when to divide. I divide mine in the spring when they start to pop out--that way you can see the sprouts and the leaves dont get in the way.

:) Beautiful!!!
Very pretty! We have bees all over ours!
I do think that butterfly was posing for you! So beautiful! They NEVER hold still for me! Vanna
