~ When Art Speaks to Us ~

With our temperatures in the 100's again today, there isn't a whole lot of outdoor activity going on around our place. The grandson has been here the last few days, so activities have been confined to the inside playing games, straightening up his Lego collection and feeding him "a lot". While Bailey was watching a movie I decided to take some pictures around the house.
After re-painting the kitchen (Carriage Red) I knew the perfect picture to go on this short wall. I'd gotten this print early last fall and recently had it framed.
I fell in love with the Angelic look on her face while looking at the Sheep. The blue in her apron flows perfectly with the rest of the blues in the kitchen. Let's turn some lights on.
When ordering the frame I toyed with this one and one other style. I knew I wanted a semi casual feel, settling on the leather look was a perfect marriage with the picture. The area to the left of the picture leads into the laundry room, a powder room and out the back door to the sun porch. A little quirky, but works for us. :-))
I'm one for having lots of lamps, naturally this vignette screamed for a lamp, for height I added books. The bunny dish was a gift from a friend recently. Love it... I can see the sheep like
Pat from Back Porch Musings has on her coffee table. Don't all of you agree? :-)) The black "ugly" box is the built in stereo system. Not a whole lot I can do about getting rid of it. I'm still thinking of adding a few blue and white plates to the right of the picture. What are your thoughts? For now I"m going to live with it and then decide. If I change my mind there's another post for Metamorphosis Monday. lol

I'm so glad you popped in to say hello. For all of those under our extreme heat warning, stay in and stay cool. If you must go out be sure to stay hydrated with lots of water.

Lynne, I love your painting. It is gorgeous and the frame is stunning. Such a beautiful vignette also. Yes, I did see the sheep on Pat's coffee table. Gorgeous. I have a sheep painting coming in the mail that I can't wait to get and have framed. I also have my eye on one of cows. Love them. All farm animals just make me drool. Thanks so much for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty

I love that painting too! A few years ago, I found one like it and bought it for our church's "ladies room" and have wished I kept it for myself ever since! I saw some of Pat's sheep in Ozark, almost bought them, but left them as I wasn't sure how I would display them. Of course I regret not picking them up! Love your print & frame!

Hi Lynne! What a beautiful painting! I love it and the frame you chose. It's a beautiful vignette and maybe if you'd say 'pretty please' Pat would give you those little lambs! I love them too!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Hi Lynne...

Ohhh...I love this painting, Girlfriend! Such sweet bucolic ambiance! The frame is gorgeous and so perfect! I also love the pretty vignette that you created for the table beneath the painting! You have such a talented for creating the most beautiful vignettes, sweet friend! And I always love coming to your place! Did you just recently paint your kitchen the "carriage red"? You know, it looks about the same shade of red that is in my dining room, Lynne! I love it!

Well dear friend, thanks so much for sharing your new pretties with us today! I'm sure that you are enjoying having that sweet grandson with you right now! Enjoy, Darlin'!

Love ya,
Chari
