~ Suttle Bench Changes ~

Spring in our area is really struggling to come and stay for a while. We've gone from the 90's and air conditioning to the 40's and the furnace all in one week. At least outside the shop door there is a bit of Spring to greet you when you stop by.
Don't be afraid that I've lost my mind, the Christmas decor has been put away for quite sometime. This is the best full shot picture I could find of the rug that desperately needed to be replaced. After the winter took it's toll on a lot of things around here, I knew it was time for the rug to go.The Spring Open House boasted a large watering can filled with beautiful faux flowers to greet you. The temps were still too cold for anything living. Our local Walmart didn't even have any pansies to fill pots. After searching the Internet for weeks I finally located this one from Ballard. Black is such a wonderful grounding color I knew it would take me through many seasonal changes. Taking a look to the right of the bench you'll see I have a bare spot, a bit of "off" balancing going on. I thought about another bush in a pot to add some color, due to the awning over this area I wasn't sure it would get enough sun. I finally moved the small black table, once white into the area. It will stay for now, until I come up with another solution. While at the Ballard site I ran across this darling pillow. I thought the bright yellow would pop off the red pillows and flow nicely with the yellow forsythia in the grapevine wreath. Isn't it just the cutest thing going? The fabric is a Sunbrella , should last many seasons. Until the roof is all taken care of I still have some leakage over this area, so they are brought in each evening.

Hello, i am a new follower but, when I saw your post of your porch I nearly fell over. I have been working on a porch redo this spring myself. I tell you, the similarities are spooky. I started with a bench I had and painted it black. I had a cute little iron table, etc. I had been playing with the idea of a rug and you've sold me on the idea. I am not finished with my porch yet and so I have not posted about it but, I just can't get over how similar our porches will look when I'm finished. I hope to enjoy many more of your posts.

What a welcoming front porch. The pillow is just the right accent for that pretty black bench. I never thought about putting a rug on the porch like that. What a nice touch.

I stopped over from Metamorphosus Monday. I'm sure you noticed the similarity between your bee pillow and the pillow Susan bought for her office redo! What excellent taste you BOTH have. (I want a bee pillow too!)

Hi Lynne...

Girlfriend, the porch at your shop looks so pretty! I really do like your new rug...ohh, and all those pretty pillows on the black bench...just yummy! I was just looking at that cute bee pillow in the Ballards catalog a few hours ago...I love it! Well my dear friend, it looks like spring has arrived at your place...whether or not the weather wants to cooperate! Hehe! It's the same here at my place. This past week started out nice and warm and by the end of the week we were building a fire in the wood stove! I guess May can be crazy like that...at least for the mid to northern states. Thanks for sharing your pretty porch redo...would love to just sit and visit with you on your pretty bench, dear friend! I hope that my note is finding you and Bill both doing well!

Love ya,
Chari

I like your summer look. The pillow is great. I could see myself drinking a tall glass of tea on that porch! Wait...its cold. Make that a coffee. It is chilly here in NC today. I am freezing.
