~A Year of Expectations~

A New Year is here with new beginnings. As I reflect back over 2010 it was quite the journey. A roller coaster ride of ups and downs, new doors opening and others closing. I look forward to 2011 with hope and anticipation of a much smoother ride.
As the New Year rolls around I dream of new vignettes to be created, projects to be finished and others started. More blogging with interesting posts and so much more. What are your dreams?
Along with those dreams I hope to sit and enjoy a few more books.
Tablescapes is a great reference book for those of you who love putting together tablescapes. Kimberly Schlegel Whitman shows you how to set a table with flair and panache. The book also includes tips and hints on invitations, seating of guests and so much more.

Marjolein Bastin is a renowned artist that sells many products, several through Hallmark. A few years back Mr. P was fortunate enough to meet with her many times while doing work on her property here in Liberty, Missouri, a short 24 miles from us. During one of those work days I was lucky enough to tour the home they were building. If only I had my camera that day. Lots of wooden beams, natural rock floors, and glass walls, lots of glass. The view from her studio was incredible, perfect for sketching all the wildlife pictures she's known for.

Whatever your expectations are for the New Year, remember to take time for you.
Until next time.....
hugs ~lynne~

Dear Lynne, I hope this is a good year for you and Mr. P.....

I love how you maintain a positive spirit and how you share your talents and interests with us.

I love your vignette.....I also have one of those lanterns....bought it from Nell Hill's booth at the Holiday Mart. I've really enjoyed it during the holidays. I got a great book from my pal Bonnie that sorta reminds me of yours....I fell in love with it (found it at Scandinavia Place on the Independence Square). It's 'Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening" (by Robt. Frost, of course)...and it is wonderfully illustrated! It reminds me of 8th grade memories when we had to memorize that poem....AND illustrate it! :) Wish mom had kept that....I poured my heart and soul into drawing those pictures.

Are you watching the Chiefs today? Can you believe they made it to the PLAYOFFS!! OMG...it's so great ...finally! :)

Have a wonderful day......L, Dana

Long time no chat! It's nice to see that some things don't change...You're still the vignette queen! You should be writing the book girlfriend! *winks* I hope 2010 wasn't to tough on ya. And that 2011 will be full of great things! Ok I'm off to play catch up on what you've been up to.....Vanna

Hi Lynn, New Year's blessings wished for you and yours. You do have a very positive spirit. I know you went through a lot last year. Love your pictures today. I also have the Tablescape book. It's a good one, isn't it? I would like to do more reading this year too.

Oh Lynne, you hit the nail right on the head! I think texting during a conversation with someone is the rudest thing ever. My kids worked at Subway and had the hardest time getting people to order sometimes bz they were on the phone with someone or they were caught up in their texting. Technology can be so wonderful but I think it's made people so rude. Thanks for stopping by!

Lovely post, Lynne.
M. Bastin's work has caught my eye years ago.

Her work is pleasant and pleasing to the eye.
Makes me want to go there where she has done her artwork.

God bless,
