Simple, Classic, Timeless

Last year I went over the top with Christmas around our home. Folks it was crazy full. This year I opted for a more classic and timeless look. Sometimes the understated makes over of an impact, it gives your eyes time to rest on each piece, take it in and enjoy it's beauty.

A few berries, a bit of greenery and a couple of extra bulbs in the dish of your choice, Voila! you have a classy look for your holiday decorating.

This year I decided to pull out a few of the Santa's. OK, you know I'm a die hard Snowman lover, but this year I'm shaking things up around here. lol Stay tuned you'll find some of those beloved snowmen in future posts. :-))
Doesn't he look like the Santa's you get in the foil wrapped boxes?

Don't you love the way the crystal bowl appears to be sitting on a toile plate with the tassel cascading off the edge?

I hope you're having as much fun decorating for the season as I am. Until next time...

hugs ~lynne~

Lynne, love it! You hit the nail on the head - let the eye rest!!!!
This is so true sometime we tend to go overboard & one cannot take it all in - and you miss the jewels.
Love the Santa - come on tell us the truth is he chocolate? You've got me fooled & I'm the girl that use to have a chocolate/candy store.
Have a great Christmas. :)

What a pretty vignette - really like the chocolate Santa. I also scaled back a lot this year for several reasons. I am liking the less is more direction.

I'm taking the "less is more" approach this year also. Not necessarily by design though. I just haven't had time to do much. Hope to finish it up tomorrow. All of your decorations look great.

I'm with you Lynne, sometimes simple really is more. This is such a pretty vignette, and of course any decor that uses books is fine with me :) Ok, spill it - is Santa really chocolate? What an amazing figurine, but now I'm craving chocolate! Hope you are having a wonderful Christmas season. Hugs, Kat

Oh Lynne, how I wish I could do this. I go so overboard on Christmas decor. Yours looks so elegant, and mine ends up looking like a department store. Sigh. Maybe next year I can get elegant! laurie
