~~ A Tray Full ~~

Like the weather changing outside, the inside of our home is also changing. What a gorgeous fall day we're having, temperatures are letter perfect. Wow!! What a change from a couple of weeks ago when we hit triple digits.
A few years back I purchased a fabric ottoman with piano legs to use as my coffee table. I have to say it's one of my better purchases over the years. The versatility is incredible, the covering is a deep chocolate velvet fabric, easily cleaned with the vacuum. On top sits a tray, one of many that I have. Trays are used in many different ways. Some use them for serving, others in displays on the wall, yet again others use them in an easel as a backdrop in a vignette, this one I chose to decorate and use on top of the ottoman. :-))
I carried these beautiful pumpkins in the shop last year, unfortunately they weren't available for reorder this year.
I love all the curly detail ! The rich patina of burnished gold on creamy white flows well with any home decor.
Family pictures are a treasure to all of us. Although, I don't have a lot of them this is one of my favorites.
Mother and Daddy looked so young. They certainly had their hands full, I come from a family of 7 children. One passed shortly after birth with 2 more to come after this picture was taken. Can you guess which of them is me???
Yes... that's me. Wow!! So many years ago. I'm not sure of my age, I'm guessing 3 possibly 4. I'm sure Mother struggled to get me in a dress, I was such a tomboy. lol.

Many of you know I have "many" collections. I'm not sure I've shared my collection of magnifying glasses, I fell in love with them many years ago. I love the unique texture and beauty of their handles. I'll share in another post the ones I have around here and how I use them in my decor.

My love for books shows with the many you'll find around my home. I'm proud to say I've read everyone of them, most more than once. Naturally, you'll find them in most vignettes I put together.
This was a birthday gift last year from my best friend. Many of you know my love for Mary Carol Garrity's shops in Briarcliff and Atchison. Next week, my girlfriend and I are taking off for a girl's day out to Mary Carol's Fall Open house in Atchison. I'm as a giddy as a little girl on Christmas morning. A while back we went to Briarcliff during her tent sale. The feeling you get seeing all of her beautiful items is incredible. I'm hoping to take my camera and share a few pictures with you..

Do you have trays around your home? Are they stored away? Pull them out and use them in your everyday decorating, I'll be looking forward to seeing how you use your trays. I just received a new one for my birthday, you'll get to see that in a future post.. As always thanks for swinging by to say hello. Until next time....
hugs ~lynne~

Lynne,
I love the pumpkins. I love how you just mix them in with all the other things. I'm not too much on the cutsy stuff, I'm a traditional girl and these are MY style. Enjoy the fall,
Karen

Your 'coffee table' is beautiful and it looks right at home in your pretty living room with all of the warm colors. I have a problem putting books on my coffee table...they get used as coasters! So I stopped doing that as much as I loved to display them.

Lucky you going to Atchison. I have several of MCG's books including the O Christmas Tree book that I won from a blogger. It's signed by MCG herself!! What a treasure it is!

I'm happy to hear you are having good weather, we are, too. Thankfully!! :-)

xoxo

I love your vignette! The pumpkins are so pretty. I live in Indiana but am going to see my sister in October, who lives in the Kansas City area. I'm going to have her take me to Briarcliff & can't wait to go! Went to Atchison in May for the first time.

I enjoy following your blog!

Thanks so much for stopping by Lynne! Sorry I haven't been by but life has been too darn busy around here. Seems I don't have time for anything I truly want to do. You sure do have a way with making things beautiful and what a darling little girl you were! I'm sure you're still a beautiful lady but I don't remember ever seeing a picture of you. Hmmmm, I'll have to go back and look at your sidebar and some posts. Hope Mr. P is doing well and that things are going well.

Love your ottoman. I adore beautiful and functional pieces...I like to use everything that I have and this certainly is a versitile piece. I use my trays as backdrops for some of my vignettes, to hold little display goodies and depending upon size would even consider to use as chargers.

Hi Girlfriend...

I'm doing a little catching up here at your place! You know, I think this is the first time that I've seen your brown velvet ottoman...it really is gorgeous! Love that deep brown color! I've been keeping my eye out for something similar...only round. I would like to use it the same way as you are using your ottoman in my living room...in front of my faux fireplace. Someday I'll find the perfect one! In the meantime, I sure enjoyed seeing yours!!! Ohhh...and the tray is gorgeous! Love, love, LOVE those pretty creamy white pumpkins with the bronze swirls!!! Girlfriend, it's beginning to look alot like fall at your place...sooo very beautiful, Darlin'!!!

Love ya,

P.S. Lynne, I am commenting also on your older post about your walk and reflecting on what you saw.
It was a wonderful post and I am glad I didn't miss it.
I don't get over here half often enough.
I just wanted to say, that yes, I do notice things. I am older and no longer work so I am home and I seem to notice everything. Tiny things and can spend a hours and hours in the yard just enjoying planting..and snipping and relocating things. It's wonderful.
Than you for sharing your walk!
Hugs,
Mona
