Checking In

Good morning, I hope each of you had a wonderful 4th of July. We had a great time even with the rains that moved in right about the time Bailey wanted to shoot off his fireworks. All turned out well and the fireworks got shot. lol

I'm asking for a bit of advice. My blogger recently told me I was full and could not up load pictures. I panicked, put out an SOS on facebook. I finally got a reply suggesting I delete some posts that weren't my favorite. I'm wondering what you larger blogs do. I discovered deleting pictures is very time consuming. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what you did to correct the situation. Thanks in advance for your help.

hugs ~lynne~

Oh my goodness. I am so new I never thought about not being able to load more photos. I will be interested in hearing what others say.

Lynne:

If you go into edit posts and put a check mark on all the ones you want to delete then at the bottom hit "delete selected" it will delete the whole batch and you don't have to do it one at a time. It saves oodles of time!

I have deleted most of my posts and just keep the best ones on there that I feel may be of benefit to someone. But, of course, my blog is used as a family journal so I print mine out before deleting them. Good luck! I think I remember Rue saying that she bought more space quite some time back. I may be wrong but you may be able to do that.

Now this is a scary thought..... I think of my blog information and pictures as my personal book, and I don't want to delete any photos. I hope to goodness someone has a solution. I haven't heard of this.... keep us informed....

Hope you had a good 4th of July weekend!
Hugs,

I would like to hear the answer to this also. I don't think I am any where near full, but have often wondered what I could do if that ever happens.
Have a great week.

Me again. :D How can a person find out how much space they have used?
Thanks.

Good Morning my Dear sweet Lynne...Ok girl I had this happen to me a month ago and I did have to delete some of my pictures in able to get it to work again...It seem every time you post picture it goes in Picasa album...go to your dashboard and down on the bottom you will see picasa albums open it up and start deleting from there...many picture I had in there I didn't even have on my blog...But be sure when you do delete that they aren't ones you have poste or it will delete them from your post that you did use the pictures on...Either that or picasa will ask you to buy more room...which I would not do...as blogging to me is all free and I have no one paying me to do it like some of the bigger blogs do that have ads on them and get paid for it...Hope I have helped you some girl...Love ya... and Good luck...email me if you need any help my Dear friend...Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria

Oh Lynne, I'll be checking back to see what kind of responses you get to this. That has never happened to me. I think I would panic too! I use Live Writer to prepare my posts, but then it transfers them to Blogger, so I guess it will happen to me eventually. Yikes! laurie

FYI From BLOGGER
and boring to boot...

We try to give you a lot of room to play here on Blogger, so you'll see that a lot of the important "limits" here aren't really very limiting. But just in case you were wondering, here is some information about about what a single Blogger account will hold.

Number of Blogs: You can have as many blogs as you like on one account.

Number of Posts: There is no limit on the number of posts you can have on one blog. They will all be saved on your account (unless you manually delete them) regardless of whether you are publishing archives or not.

Size of Posts: Individual posts do not have a specific size limit, but very large posts may run you up against the page size limit. (See the next item.)

Size of Pages: Individual pages (the main page of your blog, or your archive pages) are limited to 1 MB in size. This will allow for a few hundred pages of text, but it may be a problem if you are listing hundreds of posts on the front page of your blog. If you hit this limit, you will see an error message saying "006 Please contact Blogger Support." You can get around this error by lowering the number of posts on your main page, which will have the added benefit of making your page load faster as well.

Number of Comments: A post can have any number of comments. As with archived posts, if you choose to hide comments on your blog, all pre-existing comments will remain saved on your account.

Number of Pictures: Up to 1 GB of total storage, shared with Picasa Web

Size of Pictures: If you are posting pictures through Blogger Mobile there is a limit of 250K per picture.

Team Members: There is a limit of 100 members per blog.

Number of Labels: Up to 2000 unique labels per blog and 20 per post.

Blog Description: Limited to 500 characters, with no HTML. Adding additional characters or HTML may cause it to revert to a previous setting.

"About Me" Profile Information: Maximum of 1,200 characters.

Profile Interests and Favorites: Maximum of 2,000 characters in each field.

What are the limits on the size or number of pictures uploaded?

When you upload an image through Blogger, it gets stored on Picasa Web Albums, and is therefore subject to the quota limit on your account there. You can log in there with your Google Account to access all your images.

To do so, go to Picasa Website , login using your Google account and you will see all the images for each blog in the account separately.

If 1GB is not enough for you and you want more, no need to worry. You need to pay a bit to get extra storage space. As per Picasa help page, following are the upgrade package they offer:

- 6.25GB ($25 USD per year)
- 25GB ($100 USD per year)
- 100GB ($250 USD per year)
- 250GB ($500 USD per year)

you are allowed 1024MB or 1GB of storage space for images, from what i can find.

Images you post on your blogger blog are now stored on Picasa Web Albums. It is very to easy to check how much space you have already used and how much is left. Here simple procedure…

1. Click on create a new post.
2. Click on add image button.
3. Check for amount used next to Upload images option

To purchase extra storage click Settings at the top of your Web Albums page. At the bottom of your Settings page, click the link in the Storage section and follow the instructions displayed to purchase additional storage.

This is all that I can find from the viewpoint of Blogger.

Looks like the word FREE is not really the whole truth... :(

Hi Lynne
I purchased extra space from Google, for $20 and that has worked well for me.

Glad to hear you had a good 4th. We had rain on the way home from the lake yesterday, on 54 between Osage Beach and Jeff City.

I haven't gotten that message, Lynne, so I'm not sure what you have to do. Maybe it was a fluke ~ blogger has been having other problems this week with the comments, but it could be something on their end for this, too.

Hi Lynne, that happened to me a few months ago too but it gave me an option of purchasing more storage which I did. It was inexpensive but I cannot remember how much...Christine

Hi Lynne,

I've had problems with my blog too, I couldn't post anything or comment on anyone's blog. I was being told there was a problem with the security certificate. My husbnad was on the phone for hours trying to fix it with Dell, but no solutions. Finally, after being on with Dell (which I find a bit fishy) the computer got a virus and we had to take it to be repaired. We just got it back about an hour ago, to the tune of $229.

This, plus I had to have my beautiful,Sergei put down Sat. the 3rd, it broke my heart. I was busy setting the table on the porch for dinner, with our youngest son and his new girlfriend, who were spending the
4th weekend with us. Sergei came to the screen door and barked softly, when I turned to look at him, his back legs collapsed under him. I hurried inside and tried to help him up, but his front legs gave out too. I franticly made calls until I could find help. A local Veterinarian Animal Hospital, told me I could bring him in, and my son and I said our good byes. He turned 12 this past March, and I knew the time was coming, but every day that he seemed good, I'd tell myself that I had more time with him.

I felt awful that our son's new girlfriend was there for the first time, but it was meant to be that my son was there. He bought Sergei for me, when two of my other Collies died in a year's time. Sergei's AKC registered name is, SERGEI, A GIFT OF LOVE. I'm having a hard time realizing he's gone. :(

Hugs
'D'
