Not too Shabby

I just realized a week has gone by since my last posting. Where has this week gone to and left me behind? Wow!!! It's a good thing I realized it's time for Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly from How Sweet the Sound.

"The best and most beautiful things in the world must be felt with the heart."

-Helen Keller

It seems lately all I've shown you are outside shots of pinks, this week is no exception. As I was outside working on another project I noticed the beautiful pink spirea's blooming up by my baby barn. I don't believe I've seen them as pretty as I have this year. It must be do to all the early rains we've had. They are full to over flowing. Let's take a closer look.

I think the color against the gray of the barn is incredible. Mr. Rooster seems to be proud to be associated with something as stunning as the pink spirea. :-))

The honeysuckle to the left is trying to invade the spirea along with the small bush to the right. They seem to be giving the spirea a big 'ole hug.

Beautiful pinks ranging from light to dark are a haven for all the bees that come to visit.
As the evening sun starts to go down I'm once again in awe of the beauty of the spirea. If only a few other flowers would step to the plate.. lol

Beverly, thank you for hosting this event each week. Now, I'm off to see all the other beautiful pinks...

hugs ~lynne~

Hi Lynne
I am so glad you're going to join my porch party! Your spirea look beautiful. Our bushes have all done well this year too due to lots of rain also.

Good Morning Lynne!! Your spirea bushes are gorgeous! When we built our house 5 years ago, I knew I wanted that pink spirea in the front planters....it's one thing that I can't kill! Sadly, the kind we purchased (from Colonial Gardens) is a spreading kind and not the globe kind I thought we were buying. While it is the pretty pink, it invades other areas. So, I have to get out there and whack and hack and pull on it to keep it contained. I just took the clippers to three of them this week cuz they'd overtaken their boundaries! :)

No, I didn't get to Nell Hill's last Sat. Bonnie and I went to the Strawberry Festival at the Vaile Mansion here in Indep. If you haven't been before, it's and antique, flea market, crafts sale. I go to eat their strawberry shortcake and ice cream !! YUM! :)

I hope you're having a great day Lynne!! Happy Pink Sat! L, Dana

Your spirea is so pretty, Lynne! I was also admiring your hydrangeas. I have about 5 spirea and when hey start out you can see I have 5; now when they fill in and bloom you can't tell where one starts and another ends! I also have the blue hydangeas and just cut some this past weekend to bring inside. I, too, can't believe the different shades on one bush.
