Grown From Love

I love flowers , flowers of all varieties. In my book the best ones come from friends , I call them Special. Special in so many ways, each Spring when these bloom I'm reminded of the day my best friend brought them to me, that was almost 13 years ago . The Phlox I'm sharing with you today is one of those special flowers. Given with love, grown with love.

Welcome to Pink Saturday, hosted by our gracious hostess Beverly, from How Sweet the Sound.
Each week Beverly graciously hosts this party for us to show off our pink.

I wish I had waited a couple more days to take these shots. They have filled out nicely and the scent is over whelming. Phlox (pronounced /ˈflɒks/ "flocks": Greek φλόξ "flame"; plural "phlox" or "phlox's", Greek φλόγες phlóges) is a genus of 67 species of perennial and annual plants found mostly in North America (one in Siberia) in diverse habitats from alpine tundra to open woodland and prairie. Some flower in spring, others in summer and autumn.

I know many of you have blooming hydrangeas. Mine on the other hand still aren't blooming. I have 3 planted in this area, and not a one of them cares to share it's beauty with us. It's a daily ritual now to see if I can't spot just one lone bloom. In the 13 years this plant has been in the ground, I've only had one bloom. :-((

The gazing ball to the left was the brightest silver when I placed it here oh so many years ago. The patina it's taking on now is almost black in color. At first it bothered me a bit and now I find it fascinating to watch the patina get a little darker each year.

Hidden beneath the hydrangea and hosta plant is a birdhouse I received many years ago. While I was on the circuit traveling with crafts I made many dear friends. This friend was kind enough to make me a birdhouse, using an old license plate for it's roof. Notice it says Nevada? Yes, they were from Nevada, what a nice reminder each time I look at it of the friendship that was formed many years ago.

As always, I love when you stop by. Be sure to treat yourself by swinging over to Beverly's for a full list of those participating this week in Pink Saturday.

hugs ~lynne~

Hi there! :)
I will be so happy when our home gets thick with growth and everything is mature! Watching the grass grow, as it were, right now.
Loved it.. :) Lovely!

Phlox is so pretty and wished the blooms would last longer. It is all spent in my area. Sorry your hydrangeas are not blooming.
Enjoy your weekend.

Lynne, your phlox are beautiful! We don't have them here. There was a bed full of them at the end of the porch at the farm. Started from J's Aunt Ruth's phlox.

I don't know why your hydrangea isn't blooming. The year we had the late ice storm was the only year we didn't have blooms...not even buds! I wonder if the snows you had this year has something to do with why they aren't blooming.

Lynne, I had that same problem with a hydrangea bush at our previous house. Five years with two blooms. I drove by the other day, and it is covered in blooms! Your phlox looks so pretty, and how neat to have the bird house from your friend. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. laurie

Happy Pink Saturday Lynne Sweetie...
I am so thrilled to be blogging again. Today is my first day back out and about. I posted a pink post today. I just have not had the energy, but I put it all out there today.

Your gardens are just exquisite. I wonder why those beautiful hydrangeas are not blooming for you. They look so healthy and beautiful. The look birdhouse is the element of surprise, and I love that it is made from a car tag. How sweet is that roof?

Thank you for taking me strolling sweetie. I loved my outing this morning. I go back to the doc on July 9th and he will decide when I can be outside again. I am listening as I do not want to spend another 8 days in the hospital. It was NOT fun.

Have a beautiful day sweetie, and please stop by and say hi. I would love to have you sign up for my 1 year blog anniversary. Country hugs sweetie...Sherry

You've got a nice big patch of phlox, and it's one of my favorite flowers in my garden too! I even have a variety that appeared out of the blue, and reseeds itself every year!
It's my first Pink Saturday ever, so it's very nice to have met you!

Happy Pink Saturday, dear Lynne. I always have you in my prayers.

Your garden is beautiful and lush. I refer to those special plants I've received from others as my memory plants. They always make me smile, too.

HI Lynne! We just back from vacation so I am just seeing this. BEAUTIFUL phlox!!!! I wish I could grow them. Our hydrangeas are blooming like crazy....I can't figure out why yours won't bloom?????? I might try moving them to not get too much sun. Ours only get MAYBE 2-3 hours of sun each day. Wish I could share some of my blooms with you. I will post them on FB so you can see! XO, Pinky
