~Socked In~

Monday morning as I left for work, this greeted me. You see, I hadn't been out of the house since last Wednesday when we had our last snow storm. The sun was shining and not a cloud in the sky. Beautiful!! I'm linking up today with Susan for Outdoor Wednesday, I'm sure we're bound to see many beautiful outdoor spaces. Thank you Susan, for hosting this event each week. It just looks slick, it really wasn't.. lol
The poor yucca's look a bit worse for wear.
What a difference a day makes. These next few shots are what greeted us this morning. The weather man's forecast was for heavy fog, he sure hit that one on the nose. lol I never dreamed I would find beauty in fog on an early January morning. This shot as well as a couple of others, were taken through the patio door on the back side of house.

This view awaits us as you look out the front door. You can't see the lake, and can barely see the shelter house. The beauty of the taupe brown ornamental grass against the white snow is incredible.
Thank you for stopping by today. We always enjoy your visits. Don't forget to swing by Susan's for a full list of those participating this week in Outdoor Wednesday. I'll see you there....
hugs ~lynne~

Your photos are beautiful Lynne! I love the look of the trees, Mother Nature's lace! And that is an incredibly thick fog, what perfect weather for curling up with a good book and a cup of tea. Hope you warm up some soon. Hugs, Kathy

Hi Lynne,
These are gorgeous photos! I have not seen snow in 15 years! (And I really do not miss driving in it!)
However, I do miss looking over the railing of the deck and seeing the pristine, untouched blanket and the ice crystals in the trees. Maybe I will get to see that again...without moving from FL.
Hugs (and drive carefully!)
Jane

*Our temp actually rose above 50 today!!! It was BEAUTIFUL!

Wow, these pictures are so beautiful, especially the one with the ornamental grass against the snow and the newly painted light post!!!
In my wildest dreams, I can't imagine this much snow. It's so beautiful, but I think I'll stay in south Texas.... tee/hee.

I hope all is well in your home this week.
Love,
Dolores

Lynne, the snow is beautiful in the sunshine, and the views through the fog are stunning. Like a pretty cloud that is just drifting by. Hope you stay in and stay warm. Hugs, Marty

My gosh that looks cold, AND absolutely beautiful! I love snow and miss it at times..but right now at my age, maybe I am where I am supposed to be. In Southern California with temps in the 70's.
:) How lovely it is to look at it. I enlarge the pictures, sigh deeply and enjoy it's beauty. There is nothing as lovely as a fresh snowfall. Thanks for sharing the beauty with us!

Beautiful pictures!! We got fog here in Ohio the other night and woke up to the same winter wonderland. It sure was pretty with also having about 12 inches of snow on the ground.

Hi Lynn.

I so enjoyed your pictures of the snow.

And the first one of the grass and lamp post is so incredible. It's like it is not real.

I soo appreciate you note in regard to my Dad's Alzheimer's, and know you totally understand what we are going through. It is very hard, and my consentration level to try to do anything is sometimes zero. All seems so unimportant right now, and yet there are things that have to be taken care of.

I so appreciate your prayers, and will be praying for you too.

Hugs as we walk through this together.

Hi, Lynne, I don;t know if my comment went through, but as I was saying, these are great photos. I even love the reflection of the snowy scene on your car.

Fog and snow that is unusual. I love snow! Never did before. Being that I am retired now and I can choose whether I want to go out in it or not sure does make a difference. Do you like snow?

All of your pics are gorgeous today! What a gorgeous view you have. But I have to say, I'm glad it's at your house because everything would shut down here! I guess it was a soup tureen. I kind of collect dishes like that (majolica?), but not the real expensive ones b/c I just use them for looks. I don't cook alot b/c my husband and I have very different food taste. Hope you're having a good week!
