Reaching for the Sky on Pink Saturday

Welcome to another Pink Saturday Event, hosted by Beverly, How Sweet the Sound. Click HERE for a full list of participants. You'll find a world of beautiful Pink.

This past week I noticed the Crepe Myrtles were finally starting to bloom. These little bushes have had a struggle over the past few years, but always manage to put out a few blooms for me. I have to say I'm quite embarrassed after looking at these pictures. It truly shows how far behind I am on the maintenance of the yard. So try to over look that and enjoy the beauty of the flowers..lol You can see here how tall they are actually getting. Almost above the lamp post. The other night there was a badger hiding amongst these beauties.

Although there are a few branches that need to "desperately" be cut out the blooms are incredibly beautiful.

Waxy like leaves. The Pink color is so intense this year.

Reaching for the sky

I'm so glad you stopped by for a visit today. We enjoyed having you. Beverly thanks once again, for hosting another beautiful Saturday filled with Pink. Don't forget to swing by Beverly's for a full list of those participating in today's event. I'll see you there.... hugs ~lynne~

Lynne I love crepe myrtles- I left 2 behind in NM - I so wanted to dig them up and transport them but they don't do too well in cold! In Texas my aunt has myrtles that look like huge trees!!!

Hello Dearheart...

Oooh...I love crepe myrtles!!! I had a crepe myrtle tree with the same color of sweet pink blooms on it when I lived in south Texas! It's just too cold here for them....so thank you for sharing yours with me! Beautiful photos, Darlin'!

Is your weather starting to cool off in Mo., my friend? It's 3am right now...woke up from a sound sleep and here I sit! Hehe! But when I got up...I had to close the windows...it was just downright chilly! I think that Fall is well on its way here!

Girlfriend, I'm so sorry that I haven't been by sooner for a visit...it seems that I'm always playing "catch up". Thank you so much for coming by and thank you for your sweet, sweet birthday and blog well wishes!!! You always make me smile, Girlfriend!

Okay...I'm off to see your posts that I've missed...I think I seen a pretty tablescape waiting for me!

Love you Sweetie...

Our Crepe Myrtles here in South Texas are on their last leg of blooming, and I'm going to miss them so much! Even though we're in the midst of a terrible draught, the Crepe Myrtles have bloomed since early spring.

Have a good weekend!

I think your yard looks great! Even tiny flaws show up in pictures--I guess that is where "picture perfect" comes from. I am startled everytime I see your Shih tzu widget--she looks just like my Jessie!

Hi Dear Lynne! Oh, I just love your crepe myrtles and pink are my favs. I have one and it's just started to bloom. I seem to have lost my touch with nature this year! But I'm blaming it all on the heat! :) Hope all is going well with you.
Be a sweetie,
