Flocking for Pink Saturday

First off let me wish everyone a Happy Fourth of July.. I hope everyone is having a super safe and fun-filled weekend.

Another fun filled Saturday full of Pink. Be sure to swing by our gracious hostess Beverly for a full list of participant's click on http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/myweblog.com

A few years back my girlfriend gave me a few flocks to get my gardens started. At the time I wasn't to impressed with what we were putting in the ground. Let me tell you, I'm more than impressed these days. They've turned out to be the most fragrant beauties. You see they've almost covered the gazing ball. It still manages to peak it's head out.
By the looks of things they are starting to take over the north side of the garage planting area. Which is fine by me, they are low maintenance and just down right pretty to look at.. lol This year their beauty reaches to the bottom of the window.

I wish the wonderful aroma of their beauty came through the screen. Their fragrance is simply wonderful.
Here is a close up for you.
We've lived here 13 years this fall and this are the prettiest I believe I ever seen them to be.

I'm so happy you took time away from your bbq's to stop by on this beautiful Fourth of July weekend. I hope you all have a safe and happy holiday.. Now I'm off to see the other beautiful pink. I hope to see you there... hugs ~lynne~

Hi Lynne, so glad you're back. Your flowers are so pretty, I'm afraid the heat has mine looking rather wilted. Have a Happy
4th. "Talk" soon!

They're beautiful Lynne! I don't think I've seen them before in the garden stores. I just googled them to see what colors they come in & they're gorgeous. I'll have to look for some now. You must have the tall phlox - it said they grow 24" to 40" tall. Wow!!! ♥ Diane

I love these flowers. There are some that grow alongside the road close to me. I've often thought about going under the cloak of darkness and digging one up for my yard. Yours are beautiful. Happy 4th. Sally

I must have missed something....no water? Did a water main break? In a drought? Oh my. I would be suffering terribly. Hopefully you have some bottled water on hand for necessities. I hope it resolves itself soon. Enjoy your "quiet" holiday today! I only have three more hours and I'm off work but then we're just grilling some hamburgers and hot dogs for us in between the kids work schedules. Pretty calm laid back day. around here. Just like I prefer it!

I love flocks. I think they are among the most delicate of blossoms. They're so old fashioned they remind me of my childhood. Thanks for sharing your pink beauties with us. Enjoy the holiday. Blessings...Mary

Lynne, those flocks are truly beautiful. I'm not really familiar with them (except in pictures), and I had no idea that they were fragrant. I might check into this and see if I can plant them in our climate.

Happy Pink Saturday 4th to you!

XO,

Sheila :-)

Those are really pretty. I just don't have the knack for growing flowers.
