Outdoor Wednesday with White Out Conditions

This is my first time participating in Outdoor Wednesday hosted by our gracious hostess Susan over at http://asoutherndaydreamer/. Be sure to stop by for a full list of participants and all of their beautiful outdoor spaces. This past Saturday we woke to snow. A lot of snow. When it was all said and done we ended up with 6". Oh it was so pretty from the inside out. lol But being the true blogger that I am I ventured out to take some pictures to share with you girls. :-) Many of the weekend activities were cancelled in our area due to the slick roads. After I let Murphy out of the garage he promptly came around to the front yard to play..now I wonder what he's after? He's sure focused on something..

Murphy.."what are you after boy?"

This is the view outside the patio door. Some of you may remember the boulders from last summer. They look a bit different all covered with snow. There is a driveway to the right of the boulders. ummm it seems to have disappeared..lol Brrrrrrr it's cold out here..

A birdbath full of snow..and a bench dressed in white some how doesn't seem right. But the beauty is so serene. Think I might pass on sitting here for a day or two.

You can barely see the lake through the fog and the snow. Look closely, beyond the yard light you can see the shelter house and yes, the lake there. I think the fish might still be on the bottom for a while.

Aren't the trees and the bench gorgeous covered with all the snow? Almost postcard worthy.

In the background you can see a bale of hay nestled amongst the trees. We purposely left it there for the deer to nibble on. They're pretty shy and only come in the evenings. What a site that is.

The baby angel is even covered in a blanket of snow.

Even the Labrador yard ornament isn't left out..

This is a view off the end of the porch. The smaller of the trees are the flowering crab apple trees, the rest are Austere trees. Hard to believe I'll be cutting down the pampas grass in a couple of weeks.

Hi boy, I'm so glad you could join me..

Remember the beautiful Boston ferns that hung here last summer? It won't be long now and they'll be hanging here once again.

Hi ya boy.. Sit Murphy...

Good boy!!! Even Miss Scooter had to go out and play in the snow. Girls, she doesn't even like to get her paws wet when she goes out to potty..we laughed and laughed at her..

Mom, can you please get the towel to dry me off?Okay girl.. Mom will let you in. :-))What a difference a day makes. This is Sunday morning. I had to rush out to take a picture of the geese on the lake. They're a bit early this year.. Maybe that's a sign Spring will be early.
( A click on the picture allows you a better view of the geese.) Blue skies..

This week they're calling for temperatures to sore into the upper 70's by Thursday. Hard to believe we can go from this to wonderful Spring like temperatures so quickly. But girls that's Missouri. If you don't like the weather wait 5 minutes and it will change. Susan thanks for hosting another wonderful Outdoor Wednesday. Now, I'm off to see all the other beautiful outdoor spaces....hugs ~lynne~

Lynne, these are such beautiful snow pictures. Murphy and Miss. Scooter are so pretty in the snow. It just amazes me how different everything looks in the snow. It's fun for a little while, but now I'm ready for spring (without any snow). laurie

Love your photos! Your weather is like ours. Don't like it - wait a little bit and it will change! Beautiful dog. Our snow is almost gone, thank goodness. Temps did not get as high today as originally predicted, but should be in the 60's tomorrow and that should wipe the rest out. Hope you are having a great evening.

Wonderful snow scenes. It all looks so peaceful and serene. Snow is so quiet when it falls, compared with rain.

Lynne,
Thanks for coming by. Always appreciate your visits.

The snow pics are beautiful!!
I think Missouri must be like Oregon as we use that same saying. "If you don't like the weather just wait 5 minutes and it will change."

You must be out in the country by the looks of all the bare land around you. It's beautiful!!

Blessings, and thanks for the 'snow' scenes,

Barbara Jean

Send some of that moisture back this way. We are so dry, and are having grass fires. It has been a beautiful, warm winter; but I'll take some snow any day over the fires. Sally

Lynne,
Thank you for my good morning note!!

The snow may melt where you are, but on my computer screen it will still be there tonight. ;)

I love the snow because it reminds me of how God sees us. To Him, we are whiter than snow. No blemish. No spot, because He see us through the blood of Jesus. And when we 'melt away' and 'get dirty', He still sees us whiter than snow.
He just loves us no matter what!!

Have a wonderful day,
Barbara Jean

You sure did get lots of snow. We haven't had any for a couple of weeks now. But its been very cold. Isn't that something that you'll be up in the upper 70s in just a few days..you are lucky to experience both just days apart.

Hope spring comes fast around here.
have a lovely day and thank you for sharing.

What beautiful snow pictures! I got a kick out of your dogs. We had a golden retriever who hated to get her feet wet. We now have an English retriever that loves the cold and the rain! She loves long walks in the rain and seems energized by it. Her breed is originally from Scotland....During the summer I can hardly get her out the door - she HATES the heat! Pets, aren't they funny?
Enjoyed your wonderful pictures. Love, Paula

Good Morning Lynne,

I'm jelous, I can't get my Sergei to let me take some good pictures of him, yours pose so nice. I took some pictures of the snow we got here, but didn't post them. I'm glad your DH is doing better, I'm afraid our niece didn't make it. :( She leaves four children 11to 4yrs or age. I hate to think of them growing up without a mother as I did.

Thank you for your kind words Lynne. Today would have been her birthday, which makes it so much harder. But I keep remembering something a priest said to a greiving husband when he lost his wife. His words were, "Jim, Mary didn't belong to you, she belonged to God, and he called her home." I find those words comforting, and I hope that my nephew, John, will too.
