Pink Saturday With A Suitcase of Nostalgia

I'm excited to be joining another Pink Saturday. Beverly, over at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/myweblog/ is hosting another Saturday full of pink. Be sure to swing by there for a full list of participants. You can also click on my sidebar and it will take you right
there. :-)

This week I've filled another suitcase with a bit of pink and some vintage runners and doilies. A few years back I started collecting dolls of all kinds. The neighbors we lived next door to at the time found out about my latest obsession, and helped contribute to the cause. She surprised me with the gift of this sweet little doll. Not quite 12" long the perfect size for a little girl to play with. OK, so I wasn't so little but I sure enjoyed moving her around the pink and white bedroom. :-)

Isn't she just the sweetest thing you've ever laid eyes on? Bless her heart she almost looks like she's pouting.. maybe she's just shy with all the company today. :-) Aren't her dress and bonnet darling? Full of gathered lace. Underneath all her finery she has the sweetest pair of pantaloons on. No pictures of those girls, remember this is a family blog. l0l
I'm sure you remember a few posts back I spoke about all the counted cross stitch I've done over the years. This is one I did for my husband's birthday in 1984.
I fell in love with the phrase and thought it said how I felt about our love and marriage. Don't you love even the frame is in the shape of a heart?
Now, my little pouty baby can smile. I added a miniature tea set just for her. :-)
The small ballerina slippers are actually Christmas ornaments I used on the tree when I decorated with a Victorian theme. It would take some tiny feet to fill these up.

Beverly, thanks for hosting another fun-filled Saturday of pink. I'm off to see all the other beautiful pink, see you there.. hugs ~lynne~

Sweet doll...I have one similar that I made many years ago....I will have to show her sometime. Very cute vignette!

The doll is gorgeous and looks so sweet in her long gown. The tea set looks to be just the right size for your doll.

How in the world did you match the frame so perfectly with your cross stitch piece? Did it come in a kit? Even the pattern curves just where it needs to. Beautifully done, however you managed it.

Good morning Glenda, I'm glad you like the doll and her tea set. Yes, the cross stitch was a kit I had purchased I'm sure from Hobby Lobby. Thanks for the compliment on the cross stitch.. it is so appreciated. hugs ~lynne~

Hi Lynne,
I tried to post a comment already and blogger wouldn't let me - so I hope you don't get this twice! But if you do - TWICE as much love sent your way! :-)

I love your sweet cross stitch picture that you made for your hubby - what a beautiful gift made with love from your heart! The best kind!

Those little shoes are adorable! I am sure they would look great on a Victorian tree or sitting sweetly atop a table - too cute to have tucked away - they need to be displayed!

Hope you have a fun filled "Pink Saturday"
Blessings to you,
Kymber

Hi again! I think you titled this lovely little vignette just right. It does provoke that nostaligic feeling...and what a wonderful neighbor you had to contribute to your "addiction"! See, that's why you are in the perfect job for you - you are so good at your displays - they don't just show off the items - they provoke feelings too! :) Sorry to hear you have been sick too..this darn virus is just wiping us all out. I don't have energy to do much at all and with 3 kids home....well you know, Mom's are allowed to be sick! :) Thanks for stopping by to see my little girl and for your sweet comments. Her name is Isabel. I actually get nervous posting personal bits about the kids but her old fashioned name (with the spanish spelling) suits her and I wanted you to know her name. :) Have a good weekend! ~ Laurie

Hi Lynne..your little things are so cute. I haven't done cross stitch in years and your little heart reminded me of how much I loved doing it. You take such joy in little things and inspire me to move things about. Even my dolls. I nearly began getting rid of them though I didn't really want to. Just not ready to do that yet. I always enjoy visiting you so much. Thank you for the inspiration.
