What's a girl to do with all her extra bling?

Do you find you have extra bling laying around? More than enough and just not sure where to put it? What to do with it? You know the kind that shines, drapes and hangs nicely? I find this time of year I have a lot of extra bling just laying around. Now girls, I'm talking about ornaments. What did you think I was talking about ? You didn't think I was talking about something else did you? You must speak to your significant other for that type of bling.. lol
After I finished "most" of the decorating I discovered I had a few extra ornaments left over. Don't we all? The tree was full to over flowing, to the point I was scared if you walked heavy across the floor it might fall over. So.. I put my thinking cap on.. What was I to do with all the extras? Off I went shopping around the house. Then it came to me. Earlier in the day I had been doing some organizing and remembered all the great garden urns stacked on the shelves. I needed one with some character. Something that would lean on the side of vintage. And, there it was. Dirty brown, ball feet.. Oh it was going to be perfect !!

I've had these wonderful beaded ornaments for a few years and have used them in many different ways. This is how they ended up this year.
Aren't they pretty? The glass hanging beads are from my Victorian Era. I think they work perfect in my old world vintage setting.
I have quite the "collection" of clocks and thought the clock and magnifying glass added a bit of vintage flair.

I was playing around and took the clock, magnifying glass and red lace away. I think it looks a bit on the under dressed side now. What do you think?

I love tassels and hang them everywhere.

Oh, I think I prefer the clock, magnifying glass and red lace.. Much more festive and has a bit more of a finished look. Don't you agree?

So.. girls go forth. Shop your garage, storage closet, shed, under the bed or any where else you might store your extra containers. Bring them out and put them to good use. I'll be anxious to hear how you use your urns or other containers. Thanks for swinging by. I'm off to make some
fresh popcorn. hugs ~lynne~

Dianne,
That's my kind of "shopping", just finding things around the house, (or store), that aren't being used and and putting them all together.
That's how I ended up doing the table decor with all the silver.

My vote: I'd go with everything; the clock, urn, and magnifying glass and red cloth. Although for me I would have a lace something under it so all the dark colors showed up. You know I love lace, and contrast. =0))

Thanks for visiting today.

Hi Lynne!
Thank you so much for visiting me AND for adding me to your favorites! You are certainly going to be added to mine too!! I LOVE your blog! You have a wonderful eye for decorating and photography and sense of humor. I had to chuckle about shopping the house, I do that all the time! I love your header too, looks so great and festive for Christmas.
I have a question... I must know... where did you get the snowflakes on your blog??? It's so adorable. Did it come with your background? There are so many gadgets & gidgets out there! I'm computer challenged as it is.
It's so nice to meet you! A Very Merry Christmas to you!!
Holiday hugs, Sherry

Hi Girlfriend...

Ooooh...I love that "old world" urn filled up with those shiny, sparkley ornaments! I just love how you can take two things that contrast...the old distressed and add some shiny new...love that look of contrast!!! I also think your urn needs that darling clock, magnifying glass & lace! What a lovely vignette!!! Lynne, my dear friend...you really are the "Queen of Vignettes"!!! I think you need to get you a Queen's Crown like Vannas...hehe!!!

Have a great day Sweetie...
Love ya,
Chari

Lynn, thanks for the idea.
The other kids have stars and snowflakes on theirs, and I'm trying to make them all different.
I will try to post a photo of all of them another day.
Keep thinking!! =0)

You are such a trooper to keep helping with this. I think little candy canes would be good, especially if i could find some little buttons. I'm not sure painting them would work that small because of the wool.
Of course there is the time element.
Only today and tomorrow to run around, and tomorrow is the store.
Small ornaments? Hmmm. Might have some of those.
Might still be good to do that guy bigger, and then still add those cute ideas. =0)
I could just stencil right over him in no time at all.

What fun and how pretty it all looks. If I want to make a trifle this Christmas I will have to dump all the ornaments out first.

I ended up giving my extra "bling" to my daughter so she could decorate her very own tree :) It's so hard to see your babies move out so we do what we can to make it easier for them!

You have set up a marvelous vignette. I like it best with the magnifying glass, the clock, and lace. It is all beautifully displayed in front of a gorgeous framed piece of handcrafted needlework.
