The Sunporch Gets Decked Out for the Holidays!!

We're so glad you stopped by. Come on in out of the cold . I'll show you around the sunporch. This is the room you first saw all decked out for fall. Where has the time gone? Once inside the door you're greeted by this smiling Snow Couple. That could almost be Dh and myself.

Once inside you'll see the tree all decked out with a child's theme. This tree started out in the dining room. The older the grandson has gotten the larger the tree has gotten. So, we moved it out here and added more ornaments. I'll let the tree speak for itself. :-)

These cute little Hallmark bears haven't been out for years. This year while unpacking the ornaments for the big tree, the grandson ran across these and wanted to use them. Naturally, Grandma said yes.. lol I think they look darling climbing up the ladder.

Murphy keeps an eye on every move I make . Murphy just showed up one day last spring. He is the best dog ever. Want to come in big boy? Oh honey, Mom is busy taking pictures. I promise to play with you in just a bit.. :-))

You girls know I'm over the top with snowmen. This guy stole my heart a few years ago. He always takes front and center.

For those of you that don't know, my husband used to own and fly his own plane . Unfortunately due to bad health he hasn't flown in many years now. I found this guy flying and thought he would make a great keepsake. The ribbon candy is glass and came from the Dollar General.

Remember the placemats from the Snowflake Tablescape? I took a couple of them and made pillows of out of them. I paired it up with this darling snowman pillow.

Even the hutch got decked out for the holidays. Usually, it has a lot more than this on it. Frankly girls I just ran out of time.

Again with the Candy Cane light sleeve. These are wonderful sleeves that slip over a small light bulb and transform your lamps for the seasons. Alot safer than candles.

Oops!! I think this one is out of order. But isn't it pretty?

Once the candy corn candle came out the snow people went it. This darling snowman plate was a gift from my husband's daughter-in-law. I can sure see my new Snowman plate from Gloria out here. Can't you?

As you can see the candy cane theme continues..lol

Excuse the coats girls, but we have to hang them somewhere. lol

This little cutie is a wooden tray. It was a gift from my husband's granddaughter.

It's now been 12 years since I've done craft fairs. We pulled a 14' trailer and traveled with the greatest group of people. I don't miss the loading and unloading. The carrying in of boxes. Taking chances with the weather. When we came off the road most of the crafty things were sold out. But I did manage to hang onto one these wooden candles. You can see the way the camera is acting up. The one candle is actually a deep red..Here is looks like a maroon color.

This is one of my favorite snowmen. He's made out of wood and 3' tall. He looks like he's been out an ice storm. Isn't he the greatest?

Okay Murphy boy, Mom is all done boring these fine folks. It's time for me to come and play with you. Thanks big guy for being so patient. We're so glad you stopped by girls. I hope you enjoyed seeing the sunporch all decked out for the holidays! I appreciate each and every one of your visits and comments.
From our home to yours Happy Holidays!!! hugs ~lynne~

This is lovely. I love the candy cane theme, and those light sleeves are a great idea. I've never seen those before (guess I don't get out much lol). And the snowman, and the tree, and well I love it all. But Murphy, well he's adorable! Sometimes strays and rescues are the very best pets, it's almost as if they understand how lucky they are! Everytime you show those lightbulb sleeves I fall in love all over again! Those are fantastic. If a dog like Murphy showed up at my door he'd have a new home too! He's beautiful. Everything is so fun and beautiful in this room. I love the fact you gave your grandson that tree to decorate and I'm totally jealous you have a sunroom. The older I get the more I want one! Merry Christmas!!

Lynne, I would love to buy a couple of those sleeves next year. We had a lot of snow last nice. I'd say at least 8 inches. There are huge drifts. The schools are all closed. I do have to go to work at 2:00 PM. I will close the store tonight. So, I hope it doesn't snow before I get off work. Oh, I really don't like ice.
A few months ago I was going to open my own store. I was just about ready to order my flower cooler and all of a sudden out of nowhere I got a gut feeling not to go through with it. It has always been a passion of mine to have a store. it just wasn't the right timing for me. I have already ordered some merchandise. But, everything worked out ok. I am glad you have a store. I know you must love it. Hugs, Terrie

Hi Lynne,

So so cute!!! The snow people are precious and you have a really large collection. That's great!

Murphy looks identical to Lambeau. My sisters family dog. He's a Sheltie. What a sweet guy for waiting for mom to take photos.

Have a wonderful day. ~Melissa :)

Lynne, I love everything you have, all the snowmen and Bailey's Christmas tree. This tells me that you did not get any rest on your days off. The energizer bunny works all the time, which is good or we won't have much to enjoy looking at..LOL!...Christine

Lynne,

I enjoyed viewing your post, but Murphy caught my attention. I have a Collie, Sergei, who hates his picture taken. I did manage to get a few for the holidays, which I posted, but he didn't sit nice like your Murphy. Hope you'll be able to enjoy Christmas and that you won't be too tired after the 'Holiday Rush'.

Hugs

I love Murphy and how neat that he chose to adopt you. The porch is wonderful. I am already planning that next year I am doing candy canes, gingerbread and stars. You have to get a running start at this. Due to hubby's surgery we did a mini-decorate this year but just wait....

P.S. How do you get your favorite sites to print out on your sidebar like that, you are really clever, girl!

Christopher Lowell look over your shoulder. You have a young designer coming up in your rear view mirror.
Your grandson did an excellent job and the addition of the Hallmark bears on the ladder is the perfect finishing touch.

Lynne (lynnesgiftsfromtheheart) said...

Glenda, what a kind thing to say. My grandson does get a kick out of helping with some of the decor..lol I miss the Christopher Lowell show. I used to watch it all the time. But then again I used to watch "alot" of t.v. for whatever reason I just start picking and choosing favorites. And now I only watch a small handful. I hope all is well your way darling...Happy Holidays!!

Lynne, I am so jealous. I wish I could spend Christmas with my grand-daughters. I know you have going to have a blast with your grandson. I can't wait to see pictures. You should see how much snow we have already. And it's not even winter. I don't know where we are going to move it to if it keeps snowing. Oh, well. I am nice and warm in our cozy home. I hope you stay warm and cozy, too!
Hugs, Terrie

Merry Christmas!!! Loved your blog. I wanted to tell a story about those crazy collie dogs. You can't pick them, they pick you. I got one a couple years back from someone who was giving him away. He wouldn't stay at their house either. He didn't stay at mine. He ended up at another house about a mile from my house. Everybody who I know has a collie dog the dog picked them! I have a WV Brown Dog and a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. They will never leave me!
