OUR FIRST SNOW OF THE SEASON !!!

Good morning girls. I know I've been MIA the last couple of days. It's been quite the zoo around here. Not that that's anything new and different. I often tell people if we had one calm moment and things running smoothly around here I would probably have a cardiac.. Not kidding girls. Many of you know I've been dealing with an adjuster who has the personality of a bent fence post since August. For those of you who don't know we had a water pipe burst on August 27Th. And that whole issue still isn't resolved. I pray it will be soon. This is a little bit of what I'm talking about....This past week the phones didn't ring in at all. I probably missed the call of a life time due to that little cliche in our life. The other night I came home to the trash compactor not working properly. And to put the icing on the cake the refrigerator has warm milk instead of cold. We all know this is suppose to be a joyous time of the year. I'm trying girls but the real world keeps getting in our way. So, I ask you. How much more can a gal take?? All I can say is Thank Goodness for my popcorn and coffee. It's my drug of choice, my little awwweee of the day. The one moment I take for myself and let it take me away from my troubles and woes.

OK..enough of all of that.. On the brighter side I wanted to share with you our first snow of the season. A ground covering snow. The snow started on Saturday evening and the ground was covered. It's an old wives tale around here...the first ground snow of the season marks the number of snows you'll have for the year. YIKES!!! That could mean 29 snows total..28 to go!! I sure hope this wives tale falls through the cracks.

It was dusk when I rushed out to shoot this shot. See the snowflakes on the camera? It was so pretty coming down and cold. Girls I rushed to share this with you. Now, that's called being a true blogger right?

You can barely see my little angel in the birdbath. Don't you know her little wings were getting cold? Remember, I'm cold so I'm hurrying here girls !!

I tried to get a little better shot of the snow. Girls... the camera is even acting up. And that just can't happen too... what would a blogger do without her camera?

And last but not least a shot out the patio door. I think the blue spruce needs to be dressed up with some Christmas lights..
I hope you enjoyed our "first snow" of the season. Now, I'm off to work sure hope it's not a "long" one.. There's been quite a few of those in a row.. I miss you all !! hugs lynne

Oh Lynne...I'm so jealous! We almost never get snow! It's so beautiful, don't you think? I know what you mean about adjusters. We had a big hail storm here a couple of years ago and had to deal with the results. They sure don't mind taking your insurance payments though, do they? lol Sounds like you've got gremlins at your house. I hope you get everything back in working order soon...Debbie

We had our first snow on the ground Saturday night, also. But, I would look forward to 29 snows. I don't have to go out in it everyday, though!! Be sure and take some time for yourself today. Sally

We had a few months where our compressor was going out in the fridge and we had a choice of either warm milk or frozen milk, we never knew which. During this time the dryer died and so did our hot water heater. Tax time finally came and we got the fridge. When we finally saved enough for a hot water heater the plumber came out on a Friday and said he didn't have time to put one in and would be back the first part of the week. He went upstairs and ran our water and said "have you been running dishes all day and using hot water." I looked at him like he was crazy and told him that we didn't have hot water and that's why I had called him. He was pretty shocked and went and got our new hot water heater and installed it then and there. I had four young kids at the time and it was a trial getting baths done. All this time I was hanging my laundry out to dry on drying racks and over furniture in the house. We went without a dryer for quite a few months until my boss took pity on me and gave me her old one. Nothing wrong with it but she just wanted the new style of washer and dryer. This happened several years ago but your post brought it all back fresh. We're blue collar workers and work hard and are frugal with our money but when more than one catastrophe hits it can get pretty rough. Needless to say my laundry room isn't put back together yet from our flood. We're finally down to sheetrock and then painting then the flooring guys. The flooring guys will come quick bz the insurance has already settled with them and we've picked it out. They don't get the money though until we sign the check over to them so they'll be motivated to do it quickly and right. It's just getting the sheet rocking done. It's such a small job it's hard to get anyone out to do it. Sorry the post was sooooo long but I do feel for you and wanted you to know that I understand. I pray it gets easier for you soon and I truly wish I lived by and could help. Take care friend. {{{HUGS}}} Cindy

Hi Lynne, I am sorry that you are having some trouble lately. I bet it feels like it will never cease. But look at that beautiful snow fall!! Ohhh I bet that really makes it feel like Christmas! Living where I do, we don't see that and up until a week or so ago we were having 80+ degree weather! Now that doesn't feel like Christmas! Just keep believing that next year will be a better year. Take care. ~ Laurie

Hey there! Thanks for visiting my blog. And thanks for taking those cold, snowy pictures to share with us. We had our first snowfall on Sunday..only a bit and it was pretty much gone by the next day. I do like snow in Dec. It makes all the Christmas lights just so much more festive, doesn't it?

What a good little blogger you are...running out into the cold to take pictures for us to see... I feel your angst...we had to bury our leaf blower and our lawnmower both in the same week...some Christmas that is...Boo! ;-) Bo

Hey Lynne - Thanks for stopping in tonight! I just read your "random post" and we live on 40 acres as well - we call it a farm, but we don't have any animals or do any actual farming!!
Thanks for posting your snow pics - you just keep all that lovely white stuff up your way!!
Have a good one.

I am so sorry for all the troubles you are experiencing, Lynne. When it rains, it pours, isn't it? Hope it stops soon! Anyway, your snow pictures are so pretty. Snow is sure pretty to look at, just not be on it. Thanks for sharing. We had frost this morning but that's about what we get here all winter long....Christine

Oh, I am hearing you about things breaking down. Last night, we ran out of propane, and all of our pilot lights went out. Burrr, it was so cold--56 degrees in the house. Then the gate latch broke, and we were lucky the goats didn't get out! I've been dealing with repairmen all day.

I am waiting for the proverbial Third thing to happen, as bad luck travels in 3's.

Your snow looks so pretty and calm. Hope your adjuster goes away soon!

Hugs,
Gollum

Hi Lynne, Thank you for grabbing your camera to record the first snowflakes. Love how you think of all of the details to pull me in. I've had a full plate lately, but wanted you to know that I think of you daily because my rock is dedicated to you. As the holiday season comes I think about how much RMS and the friends I've made have meant to me in the past year. You are special to me. Hugs, Fieldstone/Pam

You surely have had more than your share of troubles recently. Really hope things start to smooth out soon. You are due a break.
Thanks for sharing your pictures with us. It was in the mid twenties here overnight. That's pretty cold for this time of year in our part of Georgia. The humidity at 81% makes for a bone chilling cold.
Hope you had a really good day yesterday and a better one today.
