Is there really time for playing a game of Tic Tac Toe??

Here it is Saturday evening girls. The winds are "howling" outside as in protest. The temperature is dropping faster than you can turn around. But inside it's toasty and warm. You see I'm doing my last bit of baking and candy making. I'm sure you're thinking that girl has sure put things off to the last minute. Are you one of those, or do you make lists and actually follows the list? Well, I'm a list maker and "follow" the list. You see there is a reason I put off the baking until the last minute. If I don't, there's isn't any to eat. I've eaten it all. The plate is empty. The kiddos are wondering why Grandma didn't make any of her famous treats for the season. So, I learned many years ago do the Christmas baking before the first Christmas dinner. That way I don't disappoint them and give myself sugar overload..lol :-) BUT !! I'd much rather be doing this: Instead I'll be doing this. Mixing up ingredients for peanut butter fudge. See, even Chef Bill agrees. It's the most wonderful time of the year..
But, oh.... I'd much rather be doing this.... :-(

Instead, I'll be going to the canisters.....

So Chef Bill and I can make....

this.. See even the edges are covered so they don't burn. I wonder what kind of pie it is? hummm....

This looks much more fun...

Now Miss Scooter thinks the baking is more fun. She's ever anxiously awaiting just a small smidgen to fall on the floor. I'm happy to report -none fell on the floor. But, because she was such a good girl; she got her treat. :-))

This game is "really" calling my name lynne...lynne...Don't you want to come play?

Well girls the timer just went off. The pie is ready to come out of the oven. I've saved from the gory pictures of cleaning bathrooms and such. Wasn't that kind of me? :-)) I've tasted the fudge and it is sooo delicious. Ooooopppsss!! I forgot the blogger rule. I'm suppose to take pictures.. Well shoot!! I'll try to get some tomorrow before it's devoured. You see we start celebrating today with the first round of dinners. We should have about 33 here. Wow!!! That's alot when I type the numbers . Thank goodness I love dishes and flatware! lol. Thanks so much for swinging by today for a game of Tic Tac Toe.. no, no don't wait for me. You go ahead and enjoy yourselves. I'll join you after bit.
From our home to yours Happy Holidays !! hugs ~lynne~

I'll play tic tac toe...for a few pieces of fudge! LOL What an adorable game set. I have not seen one like that before!

I wait to bake many things until the last minute or the kids would have it all eaten before the parties!

Get some sleep... and have a wonderful day tomorrow (or should I say later today?)

Very cute post, Lynne! Love the tic tac toe snowmen. Looks like you're on track for everything you need to do. I am falling behind. I thought I was done wrapping presents when dh told me he wants to give referring doctors presents, at least 30 of them. Luckily I found something on the internet, ordered 30 and they all arrived yesterday. Now I am busy wrapping and then I'll be busy delivering. Before long, I know it will be time to leave for Chicago.Whew!!..Christine

Hi Lynn - I'm a last minute baker for the same reason, unless I am baking to give away as gifts.
My baking starts in earnest on Monday and I can't wait. Hope all goes well with your dinner. 33! That's a lot - been there and done that. Isn't it fun though? Can't wait to hear all about it. Don't burn the rolls! LOL Blessings, Barb

What a cute game set. I don't bake or make candy like I use to. I do plan on making some fudge in the next day or 2. Winds howled here last night also and temps. dropped in the 20's and suppose to be in the teens tonight. Enjoy your guests!

Hi Lynne,

Yummy! I'm sure your home smells just heavenly right now. MMM...

I'm working on my TT post.
Kind of a "woodland" theme. I've never done before. I had a ball at Marshalls. They were having an amazing sale! I even found a crown for 7.99less 25 percent!!!! Don't tell Vanna...Hehe..:)

Have a peaceful Sunday my dear friend. ~Melissa :)

The only baking I've done recently was some blueberry muffins for breakfast this morning. GD spent the night and loves my breakfasts. Didn't really feel up to it, but did it anyway. Glad I did. After grits, scrambled eggs, link sausages, juice, and the muffins, she was replete and very content. Very few muffins left. For her mid morning snack we had a bowl of vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup for a topping. We were both happy campers.
You have inspired me. I need to make something special for Christmas besides DH's favorite banana pudding. I'm thinking maybe a pound cake from a recipe Susan gave me about 30 years ago. It is very rich and decadent.

Glenda, I know your gd enjoyed the breakfast and the memory..We're going to have a piece of peach pie with cool whip on it here in a bit. Girl if I've inspired you, then I'm feeling pretty good right about now.. Your pound cake oh so devine.. I could probably do one of those for Christmas Eve!!??

Lynne, I enjoyed reading this -- I identified with the pull to have fun, as opposed to the pull of holiday baking. lol I make lists, but wait till the last minute to follow them. LOL

I hope you will share pictures of your fudge. I LOVE fudge. After Christmas, I will need a larger size.
Hugs,
G
