DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE VIGNETTE?

I think everyone has a few of their favorite vignettes around their homes. Those of you that know me, know I like alot of things around me. They are a comfort to me. Some are cherished things, gifts from family and friends. Some are newly purchased. Here you'll find just a few of those many things around our home.

Here you'll find a cute little bird I sell in the shop.. A group of you girls have been so kind to purchase this little cutie and have even gone so far as to name them.. Now, he's even more special to me. I can wrap my arms around those memories and think of each and everyone of you girls... :-)I've had this picture for a few years but recently updated it with a new frame. I think it gives it more presence. Guess you can see I love birds..as long as they are this kind of a bird, or I can enjoy them from the inside out..I'm deathly afraid of the real thing coming near me. Notice the "great" lamp. It's one of those I obsessed over and it was screaming to come home with me. Maybe I should do a post just on all the lamps I have??? lol

Sometimes decorating just wears a dog plum out.. Miss Scooter had had enough and headed back out to the sunporch. But look at her peaking, just to make sure I haven't gone far..lol

Sometimes a piece of furniture stays put around here. This cute little table is one of those. I think the lamp and mirror make a perfect fit. Years ago my husband wanted a dog. At the time we had cats. I didn't think the two would get along well, so I purchased this little dog for him as a gift. Now we have 2 dogs and I can't imagine our lives without them .

I love dishes, and have many. Ok, so I have alot of obsessions..lol I especially love the blue and white and the way it makes me feel. It is always so clean and crisp looking. I also love tea pots and have quite a collection of them..again that's another blogging journey..

I'm sure alot of you remember this cute little vignette from the toile bedroom post over at RMS. This shot was taken before Miss Scooter snatched the chocolates off the tray.. I no longer leave candy out that she can get a hold of. That poor baby was so sick. And have since learned it can be very toxic to a dog.

I hope you enjoyed this short journey. I would love to hear about your favorite vignettes. How you came to put them together and if they have a special meaning to you..

I would love to see all of your teapots, after seeing these two. They are beautiful.
I really like the idea of displaying that wonderful picture on an easel. It truly gives it a certain prominence. What an interesting post. Around my house things just land in the most convenient place. I need to pay closer attention, to the way it should be done.

Hi Lynne - I am a fellow RMS'er also and have just put 2 and 2 together and realized who you are!! I've just started blogging myself since RMS has been sooo slow lately! I've seen many of your posts and comments before. I love all your sweet vignettes - they are incredible. If you get a chance, come over to "my house" for a little visit - I'd love to have you.

YAY! I'm so glad that you added me to your followed blogs - because it lead me here and I had no idea you had a blog! Where in the world have I been? I love your vignettes, and I am particularly fond of them myself. I have 2 that I really love, the first is atop the small Kittinger Jester's Cabinet in the Living Room. A hand carved and vegetable dye painted angel (spanish folklora) a garden obelisk, and a painting of a creek and trees in a old patina frame which rests on a small easel. Love that one, and everyone thinks scale wise it's quite nice. My other vignette is in the hall - a picture I've not shared online. We have a small table in our front hall/foyer, and on it I have a lamp, custom pottery, and a chinese foo dog. All in shades of green. I think it's the scale composition, or perhaps the way the green plays off of the terracotta colored walls - but it's nice to look at everyday coming in and going out of the house! Can't wait to keep reading to see what I've missed!

Boy, I'm glad I finally found you! What a cute blog- I love the toile! You have the best style - I have a few vignettes around here that I am fond of. Incidently, one is similar to yours. I have a smaller cloche protecting a real wren nest and eggs that must have been abandoned. A stack of gardening and birding books and a wrought iron bird nestled nest to a table lamp in my family room. Another involves a pottery pitcher with a heart painted on the side filled with a hydrangea arrangement, with a pewter heart frame filled with Jacob's sweet face (who else) and a pewter heart shaped soap dish with a heart shaped hand soap in my master bath. Hope you are having a nice weekend. I'm off to add you to my blog roll. ~ Robyn
